Montpellier Life and Montpellier Visitor Travel Tips
(Montpellier, Herault, Languedoc-Roussillon, France, FR)
The university city of Montpellier is a great place to experience life in France and this city has grown into nothing short of a true metropolis. Due to its size, tourists should always exercise caution in crowded situations and be extra aware of personal belongings, such as handbags, cameras and money.
However, that said, Montpellier is a fairly safe and extremely friendly city, where visitors can experience a wealth of history and tree-lined promenades. Students make up a large proportion of the overall population and so many areas of Montpellier reflect this youthful influence.

The city's main tourist office can be found at the southerly end of the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle and offers plenty of the usual pamphlets, along with regular two-hour walking tours of Montpellier's Old City area and its many historical sights.
These should usually be reserved at least two days in advance, as they can get booked up.
